I just finished the NaNoWriMo.org Summer Camp 2021.  This is the National Novel Writing Month program.  I did this one November many, many years ago, but never finished the 50,000 word count.  NaNoWriMo started in 1999 when Chris Baty from San Francisco gathered some friends and undertook a writing challenge.  I don’t think the first one was in November but was later changed to that month since the weather sucks then.  What better month to write?  Anyway, the second year they did it 5,000 wanted to join in.  Since then in the November challenge over 400,000 people world wide joined forces to write.  Nobody uploads their finished manuscripts.  It is all based on the honor system.  I uploaded my word count at the end of most every day in July until finally I broke through to 51,831.

There is still much work to do.  The book is not actually finished.  I need to finish up the list of recommended books at the end.  I need to break up one of the chapters into 2.  Currently there are more than 6,000 words in that chapter and it’s just too big compared to the other chapters.  I want to make sure that Seth gets his 2¢ in for each chapter.

The working title of the book is, “How to Channel and save Money on Psychics”.  It’s what I did.  I kept going to psychics because I was so interested in the idea of channeling and it just got sort of expensive.  Somewhere along the line I got the idea that we are all born with the gifts I had previously thought were bestowed on the fortunate few and that it is possible to train them.

In any case, I used a new software writing program for the book called Scrivener.  I have not yet gotten to the point of compiling the book which I take to mean somehow sewing together all the chapters and creating a book with page numbers that can be printed.  At present I can print a chapter at a time.  Because I finished the 50,000 word challenge at NoNoWriMo.org I was entitled to some discounts on writing software.  So, I got 40% off on Plottr which enables you to make a good job of plotting and getting to know your characters.  I’m thinking after everything is said and done I’d like to work with some characters.
